RAF “Red Arrows” Hawk T1A
The Hawk T Mk 1 was developed by Hawker Siddeley, now absorbed into BAE Systems, to equip the training units of the Royal Air Force in the second half of the 70s. Since 1980, thanks to its performance qualities enhanced by the Rolls Royce Adour engine and thanks to an incredible maneuverability, the Hawk is used by the acrobatic patrol of the R.A.F. “Red Arrows”. The aircraft is the same as the Royal Air Force training units with further improved mechanics to provide even faster command response times. Smoke generators used during performances and air shows have also been inserted that allow 5 minutes of white smoke, 1 minute of red smoke and 1 minute of blue smoke. Since its creation in 1965, the “Red Arrows” have participated in more than 4,000 events in 52 countries, becoming one of the most famous acrobatic patrols in the world.
