MB 339 P.A.N. 2016
The 313th Aerobatic Training Group of the Italian Air Force, better known by the name of “Frecce Tricolori” is based at the airport of Rivolto, in the province of Udine. The department was officially born in 1961 collecting, in a single highly specialized unit, the legacy of other acrobatic patrols organized at the level of the various Stormi to represent in the country and abroad the skills of the pilots of the national air force. Initially the formation was equipped with the Canadair CL-13 “Sabre” which was later replaced with the Fiat G.91. Since the first half of the 80s the team has been using the Aermacchi MB 339 A/PAN with a formation of nine aircraft and a soloist (the most numerous acrobatic formation in the world). On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the date of its foundation, the “339” were used with a dedicated commemorative livery that wanted to emphasize the history and tradition of a symbol of Italy in the world.
