EF 2000 Typhoon IIB (Twin Seater)
The Eurofighter project, developed since the second half of the 80s by a pool of European companies, had the aim of creating an advanced multi-role combat aircraft with a strong specialization in interception. The result of the project is the “Typhoon” which today constitutes one of the best air superiority fighters in the world. Its aerodynamic structure is characterized by the delta wing and the canard fins. Its two turbo jet engines with afterburner guarantee excellent performance and allow it to reach Mach 2. The high on-board technology, enhanced by the fly-by-wire control system, allows to obtain a great maneuverability in air combat. Two-seater versions have also been developed for advanced pilot training in order to ensure the progressive transition from aircraft that, as in the case of the Italian F-104s, were much more antiquated and dated.
